FX's new programming strategy seems to be to make their fans wait. First we have to wait for what seems like forever with The Shield and then they moved the new season of Rescue Me all the way into next spring. Even that seemed a bit much for FX, so in order to bridge the gap between seasons – they will air "mini-sodes" beginning this week, featuring Leary and the cast in humorous segments that will serve as a way to keep the show fresh in audience minds.

Denis Leary stars as Tommy Gavin, a man who knows what it is to suffer. From the first episode of the series, Leary and co-producer Peter Tolan have put Tommy through just about every kind of emotional and physical pain, as well as humiliation, frustration, and just all around misery. We caught up with Leary during this extended break to find out what they have in store for Tommy this season, what we can expect from the "mini-sodes" and how he feels the show has evolved along the way.
